lila

A sculptural tribute to artistic lineage and the intuitive memory of the hands. Named after the artist’s great-aunt—a master of the craft—Lila is an exploration of crochet as a contemporary architectural medium.

Moving beyond the traditional flatness of the textile, this work evolves into a dense, wavy relief. It continues the studio’s philosophy of "painting with texture," where the complexity of the stitch creates a soft, organic topography of shadow and form. The process was entirely intuitive, allowing the fibers to dictate their own volume and direction. To mirror the gentleness of its inspiration, the piece is encased in a bespoke rounded frame, softening the boundary between the work and its environment.
