A COMPLETE STUDY

The kit provides the specialized frame, tools and materials used in our studio.

  • A hand holding two wooden integrated weaving frames, one black and one natural oak, against a plain light background | Ana Salazar Atelier

    the integrated frame

A 20x20cm hand-finished hardwood frame, pre-engineered with recessed warping holes.

  • Six bundles of yarn in various colors and textures, arranged in a neat grid, with white, beige, pink, gold, gray, and a multicolored tweed yarn on white background, part of a weaving kit | Ana Salazar Atelier

    a curated mix of fibers

A range of studio-selected cotton fibers, curated in a specific tonal palette.

  • Person holding a ball of white warping thread with a warping needle | Ana Salazar Atelier

    the tool

A wide-eyelet steel tensioning needle designed for our warping method.

the process

A THREE-STAGE STUDY IN WEAVING

I. Warping - Following the technical guide, you will establish the vertical warp directly into the timber. The integrated frame acts as the structural loom, allowing for high-tension threading through the pre-drilled points.

II. Weaving - Using the studio-selected fibers and the tensioning needle, you will develop the surface texture. This stage is where you explore the rhythmic intersection of the materials to create your unique study.

III. Permanent Integration - Unlike traditional weaving, there is no removal or mounting process. Because the frame isthe loom, the work is finished the moment the weaving ends. No cutting, no distortion—simply tuck the ends and it is ready to hang.

the finished study

Because the frame is integrated, the work is structurally complete and ready for exhibition the moment the weaving is finished.

These studies are designed to stand alone or be hung in a series to create a rhythmic, modular installation.
