in the clouds

A material study exploring the ephemeral nature of cotton roving — a delicate, unspun fiber prized for its immense softness and structural fragility. In this work, the material is sculpted into a high-relief topography, mimicking the weightless density and atmospheric volume of a cloud.

To provide a structural counterpoint to this ethereal form, the relief is layered with freestyle hand-stitching using a fine tonal thread. This subtle intervention acts as a physical anchor, creating a quiet tension between the expansive, "cloud-like" roving and the disciplined precision of the stitch. It is a reflection on the balance between the dreamlike and the tangible — an invitation to remain "in the clouds" while staying firmly connected to the earth.
