Collaborating on a New Vision
If you’ve checked in here since November, you might have noticed the quiet. I’ve been in a bit of a 'creative hibernation' — that quiet, necessary phase where ideas simmer under the surface before the spring light finally pulls them out.
As the days get longer, my workspace is transforming to accommodate some truly exciting new projects. I’m currently deep in the development of a new body of work that feels like a significant departure — and yet, strangely, the most "me" thing I’ve ever conceptualized.
This series is an exploration of monochrome textures, deliberate layering, and the way shadows can become a medium of their own.
To bring this vision to life, I’ve been collaborating closely with Prash, who has been developing a special integrated weaving frame specifically for this series. There’s something so energizing about a collaboration that bridges art and engineering. Having a custom tool designed to support these new ideas has opened up possibilities for structure and depth that I simply couldn't achieve before.
I’m currently surrounded by studies — tests of how light hits a specific fold or how a texture recedes into the frame. It’s a slow, methodical process, but seeing these first iterations come together has me more excited than I’ve been in a long time.
That’s all I’m going to share for now (I have to keep some secrets!), but I can’t wait to show you how these shadows take shape over the coming months.
It feels good to be back in the flow. Stay tuned for some process shots of these pieces as they come together!
