cubic series
The Geometry of Convergence
The Cubic series represents a collaboration between distinct artistic languages: mathematical geometry and organic fluidity. The work explores the structural dialogue and quiet tension that emerge when rigid spatial logic intersects with tactile, human-guided form.
The foundation of each piece develops from extensive paper iterations into a rhythmic 3D wall relief, assembled from individually set hardwood squares. This tessellated wooden topography creates a dynamic field of light, shadow, and architectural depth. Traversing the rigid grid, pure cotton fiber, crafted using a hand-tricot chaining technique, is mapped across the wooden panels. These fiber pathways navigate the relief, yielding an infinite variation of trajectories where no two compositions trace the same journey.
The series bridges the gap between hand-knitted textile and timber joinery. It transforms contrasting mediums into a singular, balanced object where hard structure and soft path exist in complete union.
