while the world kept moving
HANDWOVEN ARTWORK
NOVEMBER 2025
“While The World Kept Moving” is a handwoven tapestry created slowly, in quiet stretches of time.
Made entirely in thick natural cotton, the piece builds its presence through weight, rhythm, and subtle shifts in texture. There was no sketch or plan, only a steady, intuitive process of adding fiber until the surface felt balanced and grounded.
The composition is intentionally simple: a soft textural gradient, paired with a long, free-flowing side fringe that introduces movement and ease. The contrast between the dense woven field and the relaxed fringe gives the work both firmness and breath, like a pause that holds space for exhale.
Woven on a large wooden loom and suspended from an oak dowel, the piece carries the physicality of making, the repetition, the slowness, the moments of standing still while life continued around it. It is a reflection of pace, presence, and choosing to create calmly, even when the world is moving fast.
