in the clouds
HANDWOVEN ARTWORK
January 2026
“In the Clouds” is a small, textile work made slowly, through touch rather than plan. Soft cotton roving is woven and shaped by hand, then gently “held together” with loose, wandering stitches that move across the surface without a fixed rhythm.
The work is intentionally light in presence. There is no focal point, no beginning or end — only a quiet accumulation of texture, softness, and pause. The stitched lines act less as structure and more as traces of movement, allowing the surface to remain open, tactile, and slightly playful.
Framed in a rounded solid walnut frame made in-house, the piece sits somewhere between form and feeling. Its small scale invites closeness, rewarding slow looking rather than distance.
“In the Clouds” reflects a moment of lightness — working small, working gently, allowing intuition to lead and softness to take up space.
